The BFC has a very educated, motivated and dedicated Board of Directors involved in our communications with churches and associations, providing increased acceptance of the Foundation as a viable, helpful ministry.

Managed Funds for Non-profits
BFC encourages our churches and associations to invest their “designated” and excess monies in Construction and Permanent Loan Investment Fund (CLIF and PLIF) instruments which currently earn more interest than commercially available money-market funds and CDs. This helps our ministries in this low interest rate environment. BFC currently has 33 entities with short-term instruments (CLIFs) earning our ministries 1.6-1.7%, and 13 entities with fixed-rate instruments (PLIFs) now earning 2.1-3.1% fixed for 1 or 3 year terms. We manage CLIFs totaling $764,000 and PLIFs totaling $41o,000, as of 02-28-2011.
BFC retains a Long Term Investment Portfolio (LTIP) for 14 ministries, including its own equity, for a longer period, preferably 5 years or more. The LTIP is valued at $817,000, as of 02-28-2011. Total Managed Funds are $1.955 million.

Loans to Non-profits
BFC provides loans, at less than bank rates, when loans are properly justified. We currently have loans to 21 entities totaling $455,000. By obtaining a loan from BFC, your church promotes a system that provides resources for other churches and Kingdom-causes instead of worldly ventures of commercial banks.

Planned Giving by Individuals
BFC’s relationship with PhilanthroCorp helps us create awareness of “planned giving”, in addition to current giving, as an act of good personal and family stewardship. We make a no cost, planned giving option available to church members through our Estate Plan Organizer (EPO). Click on our site at www.BaptistFoundationOfColorado.org/epo.
