Mill Valley, CA –Proclaim Good News and make disciples from every nation. Until all nations hear and Jesus returns, this is still our purpose as followers of Christ. Some believers will go vocationally as missionaries in intercultural ministry. Many will go on short-term trips and some will go to multiple places around the world. However, the nations are not just “over there,” they are all around us. So every serious disciple must live purposely and redemptively in order to make disciples of those around us. Live like you are on mission!

“I tried twice to escape my country and consequently spent three months in jail.” Very few of us could include that statement in our things-I-did-my-junior-year-in-high-school list. Amy Nguyen can, though.
Natives of Viet Nam, Amy and her family attempted their two escapes as the Communist North Vietnamese took over their South Vietnam homeland in 1975. They remained there, under Communist control, for ten more years. Though their country retreated into difficult cultural conditions (Amy’s family had no car or phone and cooked by charcoal, with limited access to electricity), it was still home. Thus, when she and her family immigrated to San Diego, CA, Amy’s emotions were more about homesickness and sadness than excitement about a new life and culture.

The Rocky Mountain Campus of Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary has experienced a great beginning to our spring 2011 semester. Student enrollment is at 77, up 8 students from this time last year (spring 2010) and up 11 students from last semester (fall 2010). This represents the second highest student enrollment at the RMC since its inception in 1996.
A public “way to go staff and faculty” is in order, because this would not have been possible without them. God has blessed the RMC with a great team! This increase includes 12 new students at the RMC. A couple of highlights: first, we are seeing an influx of students from New Mexico and most of them are former IMB journeyman; and second, we had four new students enroll in the Bible Teaching Certificate from one of the CO African-American churches. God is still thrusting out laborers into the harvest.
Thank you CO Baptists for your partnership and encouragement as we strive to: “Shape effective Christian leaders who accelerate the fulfillment of the Great Commission in the churches of the West and on mission to the world.”
